52 pick up
Aspen Art Museum Installation
52 Pick Up is an installation of 53 double-sided mixed media pieces created by the artist and exhibited on the floor after being tossed into place. This piece draws from the metaphor of life being a game, the exploration of materials that have memory, and from the idea of flash cards where knowledge can be attained from a card bearing information on either one or both sides. In this case the sides of each card relate to one another either directly or abstractly through the lens of the artist. The installation was shown at the ASPEN ART MUSEUM in Aspen Colorado, November 2010. The tossed cards seen below in photos were on display with a hand-bound book containing photographs of the 106 surfaces for immediate viewing by the public.
Single Edition Hand Bound Book
The book contains 106 photographs in actual size of both surfaces from each of the 53 mixed media collages incorporated in the installation, 52 Pick Up. A limited edition printed book will be available for purchase in the near future.
