Hibernal is a mixed-media installation composed of wooden panels wrapped in painted rice paper. The title refers to that which is characteristic of winter and is my response to listening to  Must the Winter Come So Soon, an aria from the American opera, Vanessa by Samuel Barber.  Hibernal was part of an invitational group exhibition, Interplay, presented by the performing arts center, TACAW, and the Art Base. The organizations collaborated with a pianist and two opera singers from Denver who performed ten different arias live for the artists.
